Make-up lovers have been buzzing about Fenty Beauty since the sometimes-actress began teasing the line by tagging the brand in photos of herself during the Valerian press tour on Instagram this summer.

After photos of the products were revealed on social media earlier this month, most fans were optimistic that the products would live up to the hype.

Comments like, 'this gave me literal heart palpitation' and 'take my money!' flooded the brand's Instagram account.

Others, however, were quick to point out the similarities between the Fenty Beauty and the KKW Beauty packaging (both lines contain products in neutral, cylinder tubes) and expressed disappointment at the simplicity of the line.

'For some reason, I expected more? Maybe I have high expectations because I love RiRi and her style, but this packaging doesn't seem like its all her,' said one Reddit user on the subreddit r/makeupaddiction.

The might not have any blue lipsticks or green nail polish (at least for now), the line is however anything but simple; Rihanna didn't dub her brand 'a new generation of beauty' for nothing.

For starters, the foundation range, includes a whopping 40 shades. This is major considering so many brands start with little more than bottles of light, medium and dark.

In a recent direct message thread with a fan on Instagram, Rihanna said, 'Gotta represent for my girls and we come in all shades! Especially my brown sisters….been left out too many times in the makeup world!'

As Rihanna and Fenty Beauty are taking the cosmetics world by storm, people are wondering where the name fenty came from, suprising considering the populartity of the star Rihanna, not many of her fan and supporters are really aware that her full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. It was recently discovered that not everyone was aware of exactly how the makeup brand got its name. Several people took to Twitter to pose the question and discuss various theories.

One user pointed out that most of Rihanna's products — such as her makeup line and fashion collaboration with Puma— feature the word Fenty.

Someone else apparently thought that Fenty was a "made up word."

Make-up lovers have been buzzing about Fenty Beauty since the singer and sometimes-actress began teasing the line by tagging the brand in photos of herself during the Valerian press tour on Instagram this summer. The brand is sure to go places and black women have also confessed that the product is a good one for the African black skin.
