Indigenous People of Biafra, whose activities have been classified acts of terror and illegal

  • Abuja - Wednesday 20th September -According to an Unconfirmed reports published by Sahara Reporters, The Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted an order filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, declaring the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as “acts of terrorism and illegality.”


    According to the report, the order also proscribed the existence of IPOB throughout Nigeria, with particular attention paid to the South-East and South-South regions.

    Going by this report, the Nigerian government has used the legal process by getting a court order to legalize the declaration of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, a terrorist organization. 
    The Defence Headquarters had on Friday announced the declaration of the group as a terrorist organisation after its members clashed repeatedly with soldiers in Abia State following the launch of Operation Python Dance II in the South-East which also saw gory images and video's emerge showing the military using heavy handedness on the members of IPOB, these videos and images had since caused aproar and have some sections of Nigeria and the international community accusing the Nigerian Government/Military of genocide.
    The Nigerian Military however, backtracked and insisted that it had not declared IPOB a terrorist organization insisting that it is the Government who has the right to do so.
    Many have also faulted the categorisation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation arguing that the group is peaceful and are only freedom fighters.
    It is yet unknown what the public opinion about this ne development will be.
